If you find the movement of your K.O. Lee Surface Grinder table not to be smooth, it might be time to troubleshoot the hydraulic system. Low pressure in the hydraulic power pack can be a problem or there might be dirt in the hydraulic system. If these are not the culprits, check the hydraulic control valve settings.  You might have a blocked valve or dirty spools that cause the movement of the table to be irregular. The hydraulic cylinders may also be leaking, resulting in erratic movements.

Check the parts manuals page on the LeBlond Ltd. website for a downloadable PDF illustrating exactly how to tweak the hydraulic control valve settings. Basically, you need to keep the Table Stop on the “ON” position and adjust the nut on the Table Speed dial clockwise toward the SLOW position.
