LeBlond RKL Series manual lathes are not nail polish when it comes to cutting metric threads. Our lathes are both metric and imperial that means you can cut in millimeters, centimeters or inches. Switching between the two requires a different process involving the half nut. Check out the video below for a quick tutorial on cutting metric threads:
Basically, when cutting metric threads, you need to keep the half nut engaged at all times. This is not the case when cutting inch threads. So don’t treat cutting metric and imperial threads the same. They’re not similar processes.
